Rain couldn’t stop a very successful NSW Southern Branch Championships ran last weekend at Cookbundoon Sports Grounds.
Over 600 players aged from 9 to 16 took part in the championships for both boys and girls with sides from Far South Coast, Eurobodall, Shoalhaven Southern tablelands and NPL SAP club South East Phoenix.
The event received funding through the Federal Governments regional Events program and local member Angus Taylor was on hand to watch some of the games
While the championship was the main event, the weekend also coinsided with Female Football week and the local referees took to the field in exclusive purple shirts to highlight the many female officials that make the game so great.
Congratulations to all the sides that attended and a big thanks to our team of volunteers especially Lindsay Cosgrove and Freddy Eddy who spent the week working to might it all perfect.
